New: Better-Biking Articles

  • Climbing Hills More Easily: For me, hills are hard. But learning hill-climbing skills is helping me make the grade. You can learn to ride hills, too. See On Biking Well for hills skills.

  • Filling Your Tires: Check your tire air pressure every time you get on your bicycle, preferably before you come to a group ride. Here's how.
  • Working Through Shame: It's hard to bike if you're embarrassed about your size, your pace, or being slow on—or even walking up—hills. Here's my opinion (and everybody has a right to it).

    Hill Practice with Easy Riders

Hills aren't so scary after all! Come and try a slight incline or a steeper hill after an optional 15-minute hills skills talk. The leader can suggest routes depending on how easy or hard you want to ride. And you can do as few or as many hills as you want. No one's counting.

Practice with us the following times: More hill rides will be listed soon. (Written 10/1/08)
